Who's Monty? The power of specificity
Decades ago, my father's family had a Pekinese who liked to stroll daily down the hill to the village.
"There's Monty Foley," people used to say, as he passed along, head held high.
Get the name of the dog. Cub journalists are often taught this trick.
Because specific is interesting. General is boring.
Specific grabs attention. Vague loses people.
Be specific.
Do it in honour of Monty Foley the Pekinese, who wasn't just some dog.
